14 November 2019
On 14th of November, ESTEP organizes the workshop “Green steel by EAF route workshop: a sustainable value chain in the EU Circular Economy scenario”.
The workshop is focused on sharing experiences, needs, opportunities and best practices for further greening the steel production by EAF route. The goal is to identify the actions that the scrap based steel production sector is putting in place to achieve the CO2 reduction and circularity EU targets. Four key topics are discussed among the attending steel industry and environmental experts: scrap management, decarbonisation, energy efficiency and the circular economy.
In that frame, RFCS Low Carbon Future project presents “CO2 mitigation in Electric Arc Furnace steelmaking: Perspectives from LowCarbonFuture project”.
The presentation gives a comprehensive overview on the role of EAF steelmaking within the different CO2 mitigation pathways. Furthermore, relevant experiences from carried out projects are presented.
At the end of RFCS workshop, feedback from stakeholder will be collected and analyzed. You can find the analysis of stakeholder survey in the download section.
